Nursery FAQ's: Feedings, Snacks, and Allergies

Policies and Procedures

Feeding Policy - Infants

We ask parents, when possible, to feed their child their bottle prior to nursery drop-off. We understand if this is not always possible.

Bottles or food pouches can be given by volunteers at the appropriate feeding time. (Because of limited space and volunteers, we are unable to spoon-feed children.)

Bottles should be provided, clearly labeled with name and time, and contain the formula to be mixed with water.

Applesauce pouches are provided as a morning snack.

Feeding Policy - Toddlers

Animal crackers are provided for toddlers each service.

Allergies

If your child has a food allergy, please help us help your child by:

  • Notating the allergy at Check-In (so that the allergy will print on your child's nametag, and so that your child's teacher will have access to the note indicating the allergy in our computer database) Any Kids' Greeter will be happy to help you do this.

  • Reminding your child's teacher verbally. (Volunteers see a lot of children and may not remember from week to week.)

  • (Optional) Place an "I have an allergy" sticker on your child. (These are available at Check-In.)
