January 11th:
Jesus Obeys - Jesus lived a life of perfect obedience to the Father.
Jesus lived a perfect human life, tempted as we are yet without sin. He submitted to Mary and Joseph, but his obedience was ultimately directed toward his Father and his plan of redemption. Though his earthly parents did not understand, Jesus knew that his purpose was to be doing his Father’s will.

January 18th:
John Prepares the Way - Jesus began his ministry by coming to be baptized by John.
John the Baptist traveled all around the Jordan River preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. He taught about the coming Messiah, who would baptize with the Holy Spirit and fire. Jesus came to be baptized by John, where the Father and Spirit affirmed his identity and mission.
